This guide will help you get up and running in just a few steps.

What is Truthworks?

Truthworks brings together natural language search, interview intelligence, timeline generation, and investigative insights—all into one secure platform. It’s built for law enforcement workflows and powered by trusted AI.

Step 1: Log In to the Platform

Visit your agency’s Truthworks URL and log in with your assigned credentials.
If you haven’t received credentials yet, contact your system administrator.

Tip: For security, multi-factor authentication (MFA) may be required.

Step 2: Set Up Your Profile

Once logged in:

• Review your name, role, and unit
• Confirm your assigned jurisdiction
• Turn on notifications (email and in-app)
• Add your phone number for secure PDF delivery

Step 3: Explore Your Dashboard

Your dashboard shows:

• Assigned interviews and cases
• Recent summaries and reports
• System alerts (e.g. self-contradictions, suggested questions)
• Access to search and timeline tools

Step 4: Try a LASER Search

1. Open the LASER Search panel
2. Type a question in plain English
   Example: “Show interviews mentioning a silver Honda near Main Street.”
3. Review results by type (video, transcript, image)
4. Click to view the full evidence and ask follow-up questions

Step 5: Review an Interview Summary

1. Select a completed interview from your dashboard
2. Click Summary to view the AI-generated report
3. Navigate the Event Timeline, Self-Contradictions, or Suggested Questions
4. Download the password-protected PDF for external sharing

Step 6: Use Timeline & Highlight Tools

• Timelines show events in order, pulled from the transcript
• Highlights flag key emotional or visual moments
• Click on any event or highlight to jump directly to the video segment
